the application
CHAOS IS A FRIEND OF MINE has a very short application, which we've designed with the intention of allowing you to start threading as soon as possible. The app primarily takes the form of a list laying out the most necessary facts about your character; it's an entryway into the site rather than a biography. The idea is that you have the chance to go into more detail about their personality, history and life in your plotting thread, or else make use of our development board in whatever way you see fit. Some people like to lay all the information out in detail before they start roleplaying; other people prefer to keep some secrets and reveal their characters gradually and organically through threads. Here, we cater to both styles of writers. Our application may be extremely quick and easy, but this is not a site for flat characters or beginner roleplayers.
A roleplay sample is only necessary for your first character on the site, so we can get an idea of your writing style and how it will mesh with existing members. For your second character and onwards, you can skip that section completely. The roleplay sample does not have to be written for the character you're applying for - it can be from any site at all, all we ask is that it's something you've written fairly recently.
Please don't post anywhere else on the site until your application has been accepted. The staff get to apps quickly so you'll never have to wait long, but just keep in mind we're all in different timezones! After your application has been accepted, post in the claims and sort your character into their appropriate group. You can do this by going to your character's profile and clicking on the 'groups' section rather than 'edit profile'.
After that, you're all set to get started! Welcome to the site, we can't wait to meet you!
