Kacey had woke up this morning with a great feeling she didn't know what was going to happen or when but she had a feeling something would. To say the least it had put her in a great mood that day and she was being quite the productive person. The first thing she had done was pulled out her family's old recipe for chili and started to make it, it was the perfect blend of ingredients and had a awesome kick to it. Enough that you could taste it and it satisfied those who liked spicy things but not so much to over power it. It was now simmering in a crock pot and had been all day as she waited for Landon to get home. She had made way more then the two of them needed, maybe she would bring the left overs to Colton's family and share with them. Feeling like she was over due for a visit anyways.
After that she had managed to save enough energy to clean up the house. Floors swept and mopped, dishes cleaned a put away, laundry, picking up and vaccuming and even going as far as dusting. Kacey liked to stay busy as it kept her mind busy from thinking about darker things in her life. Cleaning kept her busy until later in the day when she received a surprise visit. The person at the door had to have been a ghost because her husband Colton, was dead. It had taken her a moment to realize the person that had been in front of her was Colton and he was very much alive. It was a lot to handle for kacey and things seemed to really go down hill from there as Colton left angry. While in shock most of his words didn't register to her and she was sort of confused on what had all happened as he had left in a hurry and seemed upset or maybe angry. That was a few hours ago, now it was dark outside and the house seemed quiet and lonely.
With everything that had happened earlier that day Kacey had found herself back in a very dark place that she hadn't visited in a while. Back when news of Colton's death came to her she had spent the next year and a half drinking herself to death and if landon hadn't been there to step in it was very likely she would have done just that. Landon, what would she had done without him helping her to get better and to be there on nights like this. Where she just couldn't handle what was going on and drank until the last drop was gone. He had been there to comfort her and convince her not to drink.
The shock of Colton showing up from the dead and then leaving like he did, Kacey found herself sitting on the floor in her bedroom and leaning up against the bed with her other best friend, Jack Daniels, in her hand and nearly half empty. Her face red and tears streaming down her face. She was still in her ripped jeans and plain grey t-shirt with her hair in a even messier bun. She truly looked like a wreck. Kacey had tried to get ahold of him after he left to explain things and figure things out but she couldn't get ahold of him. She had two choices try harder to figure out what had just happen or to start drinking, and well being the emotional wreck she was she chose to drink.

There was a big meeting this morning for some building corporation that requested to take a look at his blueprints so Landon had gotten up earlier than usual to get everything set up before they arrived. He wasn’t sure if had mentioned it to Kacey, but left a note on the fridge just in case she wondered where he’d gone when she woke up. It took a bus and a trip on the subway to get to his job across town. His boss met him on the elevator as they rode it to the conference room on the third floor. There was a lot riding on his designs and he hoped that the company would make an offer. The businessmen were already waiting inside as they came in. They quickly worked on budget plans, detail designing and project management over bagels with coffee before the deal was made. Landon spent the rest of his day locked up in his office working over all the changes to what had been agreed on. He got so busy that he eventually had to tell the secretary to screen all of his calls unless they came from Kacey or Audrey. Audrey was his current girlfriend, the younger sister of Kacey’s late husband and so far things between them were going real well. They had a date later tonight and he was really looking forward to it. Her schedule was hectic with being a nurse and all so it was hard to find time to see each other. Today was her day off so they decided to meet up at the movie theater after he went home to shower and change out of his work clothes.
He closed up the last appointment for an advertisement and was able to leave work early after getting the okay from his boss. The subway got there just as he arrived and he thanks his luck as he squeezed inside with other patrons. Landon stood standing, hanging onto the rails overhead to help keep his balance. After sitting all day, he needed to get the circulation back into his legs. He rode it up to his stop, stepping off and heading upstairs to the streets where he caught the bus and took a seat as it took off. As his stop came into view fifteen minutes later, Landon pulled on the line beside him and stood up as he felt the bus slow down. The driver tipped his hat towards him as he caught his eye in the rearview mirror. The doors hissed open and he stepped out with a few others before starting his short walk to the apartment.
“Oh honey, I’m home!” Landon laughed as he opened the door and closed it behind him. He tossed the keys onto the entryway table and dropped his briefcase on the floor. “Something smells good!” he called out, loosening his tie and made his way towards the kitchen. The Crockpot full of chili was set on the simmering setting and he pulled off the top to take a whiff. He wasn't sure if it was ready just yet, but he hoped it was soon seeing as his stomach was growling in objection as he turned away from the food in favor of seeking out his friend. Landon headed down the hall, peeking into his bedroom then the bathroom and finally paused by Kacey’s room at the end. He knocked on the doorframe. “Kace, are you decent? I’m coming in.” He said, peering into her room. What he saw made his heart skip a beat and his stomach drop down to his feet. The sight of his friend in tears, clutching a bottle of what looked like Jack Daniels was the last thing he ever expected to find.
Landon raced over, dropping to his knees in front of her and snatching the bottle away. “What the hell, Kacey?!” he demanded, his voice hard and loud as he placed the bottle on the bedside table and firmly took her face in his hands. She looked like a complete rumpled mess with blood shot eyes and breath reeking of liquor and it was all Landon could do not to get angry. He wiped away her tears with the pads of his thumb, took a deep breath and looked her in the eyes. “What happened?” It came out more like an order than anything else. Landon knew Kacey very well and there was no way in hell that she would relapse just because. This was not going to happen again. The image of Kacey three years ago when they had met up again was still fresh in his mind as if it were yesterday. He never wanted to see her in that bad of shape again.

She had barely heard Landon arrive home between her sobs and fading in and out of reality. Trying to convince her self that what had happened wasn't real, it had just been a cruel, cruel joke her mind had played on her. No matter how hard she tried to convince herself it wasn't real, she knew it was and every time she would realize this again she would take another drink from the bottle. Once Landon had moved in they had gotten rid of all the alcohol in the house. Yet a part of kacey didn't want to stop drinking and so she hid a few bottles like a child. So whenever she needed them they would be there for her. Landon never had found her hiding spot. Sure it was childish in a way, but it always made her feel better... or worse depending on how you looked at it. Kacey loved Landon dearly as he was probably the person she was closest to in the world, besides colton. It was a friendly kind of love, like a brother and sister. Though if some one didn't know better they would get the wrong impression with the two. Some of the older ladies in the area thought it was obssured she was living with a man that she wasn't married to or that wasn't her family. But he was family, maybe not by blood, but family none the less. His footsteps grew louder as she heard him speak she lifted he head up and sobbed a few words that made absalutly no sense. Living with a guy wasn't all that easy they had their moments on walking in on each other dressing or getting out the shower but after a while it seemed like they had learned their way around each so things like that didn't happen all that much any more... and locks... locks on the door had helped a lot. His words made her feel ashamed of herself but drinking was the only way she knew how to handle things any more, especially when Landon wasn't around to knock some sense into her. She had been alone and so she did the only thing she was used to doing, drinking away her pain. Though it never worked. At first she didn't want to let go of the bottle but after a seconds she was ale to loosen her grip and let him take it away from her. She could feel the disappointment in the way he talked to her, maybe why that's why Colton left. Maybe he was disappointed in the way kacey was after not seeing her for 3 years. Looking up at him she took a deep breath Colton's alive.... He was here earlier but he just left she said pausing in between words trying to make sense of it herself. The tears had stopped but that was probably because Kacey had been crying for quite a while now she just didn't know if there were any more tears left to cry. Her face puffy and red, she smelled awful of alcohol and she didn't want Any one let alone Landon to see her like this again. Landon Forrester Im so sorry this took so long to get up. Ive been so crazily busy but im back and ready to get the ball rolling!
